A google search of "eloping into the woods" landed nature-lovers Lucie + Jeff on my website, taking a closer look at an elopement I captured on a covered bridge in the woods. A few phone calls and messages later had us meeting and arranging the details of their own romantic elopement, with Lucie + Jeff opting instead for a century-old timber frame barn for their elopement in case of inclement weather. Trusted colleagues were then brought on board to help make this couple's vision a reality, and elopement plans were quickly and secretly put in motion to take place in a mere span of a few weeks.
Lucie + Jeff's day could not have been more intimate and perfect. Lucie spent a slow, relaxing morning being pampered with hair and makeup, music playing quietly in the background as she looked forward to what the next few hours would bring; Jeff got ready at a trusted private residence, excitedly awaiting to see his love later for the first time as his bride. At the arranged time, my assistant and I brought Lucie to Jeff -- who was waiting patiently with the officiant -- and the rest unfolded without script, interference or interruption. It was literally Lucie and Jeff, marrying each other, in each other's moment, enjoying each other's existence and promising to do so for always. Below are some of the highlights from Lucie + Jeff's day. Family and friends, a more comprehensive slideshow of Lucie + Jeff's elopement is temporarily available HERE on YouTube. Enjoy! xox Elenora It was an honour to witness this marriage and to help in the organizing process. Thank-you, Lucie + Jeff, for the obvious trust you showed in me and in my recommendations to help with your time crunch. Thank-you as well to the following professionals, who, with little notice and with much faith in me, willingly extended their service to make Lucie + Jeff's elopement a reality: Rob Thompson of The Kemptville Suites Amy Jackson of Custom Events for venue arrangements + decor Reverend Blair Patterson, Officiant Stephanie Richardson of Richardson Hair Design Megan Roberts of 2BU Esthetics & Makeup Artistry Jenn Lalonde for assisting and witnessing The Brigadoon for an intimate post-ceremony meal xox

It's here! The arrival of warm temperatures (finally!) and golden light herald the beginning of family sessions outdoors! An image on Facebook this morning prompted me to remember one of my all-time favourite outdoor extended family sessions ever: the time Diana Leeson Fisher contacted me to photograph her family in honour of her mother's birthday. If I could write the script for my clients wanting family sessions outdoors, this is what I would want for them: a simple, naturally textured backdrop with fabulous light, a willingness to touch, engage -- LAUGH -- and your trust given over to me that I will photograph you and all your loved ones in their best light, and bring out your true connections regardless of past, present or future. It can be magic -- and it's all in there in Diana's session. xox I look forward to working with all my 2015 families! Sunshine, here we come!
Julia O'Grady and her team at In The Moment Event Planning & Design (ITM) will be showcasing a new look on their website with fresh business portraits -- portraits that emote their energy, zest and excitement for event planning. Keep an eye on this crew -- they've got some great plans in store!
This Mother-Daughter Portrait Couture session was particularly special for Mom Samantha as she is just about ready to add a son to the mother-daughter dynamic she shares with Katie. The focus of the shoot was to highlight the connection between mother and daughter but I couldn't resist securing a few shots of Samantha on her own so she'd have an additional keepsake of this special time in her life. Sister and Mom are both so excited to welcome this little guy into the world in a couple of weeks! Can't wait to meet him Stevensons!
