Milestone Babies: One of the greatest pleasures I have as a photographer is watching newborns I have worked with from birth grow and develop into amazing older infants, toddlers and then children. It is an even greater pleasure and honour to create a record of these milestones as they hit each key stage at roughly 3, 6 and 12 months. A special relationship is formed as many times my first "contact" with these little ones is actually "prebirth" in the maternity session where I learn about the personal stories and dreams wrapped up in this little being about to enter the world. Such is the case with Max: I love his story, love that he is here and love the miracles that are reflected in each of his growing stages and development. Thank-you, Max's mum and dad, for valuing how fleeting Max's moments are and for entrusting me to stop time for a bit before this baby can no longer be called one. xox

After an exceptionally long and cold winter, Jessica + Robin took the first available "mild" day to photograph their engagement session -- and even then at subzero temperatures, they experienced a an unpredicted windy snowfall right in the middle of it! No matter -- Jessica + Robin were smiles all-round, laughing, teasing and enjoying each other's company. I am looking forward to photographing this laid back couple's September 2015 wedding!
Sometimes a little conditioning or warm-up is needed before embarking upon a new season of an activity. For me, I wanted to challenge myself to take beautiful and varied bridal portraits in a very tight shooting space with one lighting source -- as these are the conditions I typically am given when I shoot the "Bride Getting Ready" in full-on wedding season. Jessica M. agreed to step in and be my bride, donning a mock gown, veil and accessories and allowed me to put her through the paces of a bride being photographed on her own the morning of her wedding. Thank-you, Jessica M., for helping me to stretch and get a little more limber for the upcoming wedding season. Jessica K. -- you're NEXT as I photograph your real wedding in a couple of weekends! xox
