What do you get when you mix one mom with 3 teenage - and almost-teenage - girls, makeup, hair, food and music? Lots of laughs, giggling and connecting. Jennifer's session fell under the umbrella of "Mother-Daughter" sessions in honour of Mother's Day, but, really, it was the catalyst for these 4 gals to set some time aside, share some pampering, giggle and connect. Fun and casual -- just like the Johnsons! xox

Good thing Jessica had an open mind when two of Jessica's first-graders marched into her classroom and suggested she hire their photographer-mother to photograph her April 2015 wedding (my daughters are obviously budding entrepreneurs who saw an opportunity ;) ). On a lark, Jessica messaged me and so began our photography relationship. How wonderful it has been this past year getting to know Jessica + Ron, recognizing the genuine love they have for one another and the support they obviously enjoy from their friends and family. They shared an idyllic wedding day, all plans going off without a hitch (no wonder: the majority of their friends and supporters are teachers! Best speeches EVER.) Two of the sweetest, most perfect moments came when Jessica's father saw his daughter for the first time as a bride and when Ron saw Jessica for the first time as a soon-to-be wife. Two very raw, intimate and REAL moments, captured in time and shared with you below -- along with a few other key favourites from the day. Thank-you, Jessica + Ron for taking a risk to follow the recommendation of two little girls and for extending your trust -- and the trust of your families -- to me over the course of your wedding planning year. Hugs to you both. xox

Mother and daughter dawned their favourite little black dresses, got pampered with hair and makeup and smiled and laughed their way through a Mother-Daughter Portrait Couture Session, revealing their strength, confidence and beauty as women. Even son, Connor, joined in at the end to give and receive some hugs to the special women in his life. "Mother's Day" was just the excuse to get this family in front of the lens. Geography and time will eventually separate them -- but their shared smiles, laughs and memories will remain in their minds and in their images. Thank-you, Merle, Courtney and Connor for your trust and for the very distinct honour of allowing me to create this with you. xox
