Sarah, mother of 2 little girls, knows she and her daughters have something precious in their lives: a healthy, vibrant mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother -- 4 generations of strong, amazing women. Women who have banded together to overcome some of the most dire and challenging of situations -- and come out smiling the other end. Believe me when I tell you this group of 6 has truly achieved the unbelievable and weathered storms that literally would have felled the rest of us. Thank-you, Sarah, for picking ME to capture your connections and to allow me to showcase them in a way that illustrates the undeniable love in all of you. xox

This time last year Brianna and Luke were making final preparations for their wedding (click here for their wedding images), the thought of starting a family a sparkle and twinkle in their eye. The last 9 months have seen them preparing for the arrival of Hanna Elizabeth Lee a dearly welcome addition to their partnership. It was my absolute pleasure seeing this young couple transition from excited young bride and groom to doting and loving mother and father. These parents are true naturals in their care and devotion to their child. So beautiful to witness. It is an honour, Brianna and Luke, to be selected to share in and capture these key moments in your life together. Thank-you. xox
Congratulations to the team of planners at Custom Events who just recently launched Oxford Mills' newest wedding venue, Stonehedge Farm. Located roughly a half hour from Ottawa, the farm is home to cultured gardens, century old maple trees, a small vineyard, open fields, and, of course, the piece de resistance, a century old timber frame barn -- lovingly owned and cared for by avid horticulturalists Jim and Nora DeVette. Planners, Amie Jackson and Kami Payeur worked with trusted local wedding vendors (see credits below) to begin to give you an idea of what your events can look like at Stonehedge Farm when you have a team of trusted professionals on your side. Keep an eye on this venue: there are great plans in store!
When Chelsea + Anthony told me what they envisioned for their wedding, I knew the day was going to be uniquely personal, easygoing and thoughtful -- wholly reflective of Chelsea + Anthony. Every detail they chose -- although on its own merely beautiful -- also held important meaning and significance. Chelsea wore a one-of-a-kind vintage gown (85 years old!) and hand-crafted, customized jewelry (engraved out of love) and accessories that brought tears to her eyes and happiness to her soul with just a gentle touch throughout the day. Anthony was smashing in his salmon-coloured bow-tie and pin-striped suit: a perfect match to Chelsea's throwback style. Personal accents such as collected sea glass, shells and a lobster trap from Nova Scotia, do-it-yourself centrepieces, traditional Italian cookies, Anthony's love of good coffee ... served to represent and unify both families and cultural backgrounds. In tune and unbeknownst to the other, Chelsea + Anthony surprised one another with special sealed messages just before seeing each other for their "First Looks" -- a perfect prelude to the moment they set aside and cherished for themselves. Some of these favourite details and moments are showcased below; a comprehensive slideshow of the day for family and friends is available until September 19 by clicking on the following link: SLIDESHOW . Thank-you, Chelsea + Anthony for the honour of selecting me to capture your wedding day. Hugs to you both. xox
Kim knew it was a crucial time to do a family session when her oldest daughter was home visiting from B.C. All accomplished young women, Kim recognized this was a time she needed to seize upon before her daughters go off to actively pursue the next stage of their lives. Lots of laughter and smiles in this session: faces were sore from the constant smiling and outbursts of cheer -- including my own. xox Thank-you, Kim and Family, for the honour of selecting me to capture your connections.
