When I received Geelasia's inquiry for a portrait session and saw that her address showed, "Iqaluit, Nunavut", I was skeptical that the Northern Lights would allign themselves so that we could actually have a session. Thankfully, the conditions were right and I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Geelasia, Jeremy and 3-month-old Chase when they came to visit family in Ontario. Geelasia and Jeremy came prepared with genuine items that spoke to their cultural roots, heritage and family. It was my great honour to photograph this little family -- and even greater is the feeling of genuine love and happiness that surrounds this couple and their families, despite the over 2000 km that separates them. xox

It was c-c-cold during Karl, Mandi, Alyssa and Nick's Family Session. The kids, however, had sunny smiles and weathered the chill cheerfully right to the very end. The family farm afforded bright shooting opportunities and the animals welcomed us willingly into their abodes. (In fact, Mabou -- one absolutely stunning horse -- thoughtfully helped keep me warm by breathing down my neck.) Lots of smiles and laughter were to be had during this session! Thank-you, Karl and Mandi, for sharing a little piece of your family with me. Hopefully these little smiles will help keep you warm during the Ottawa winter months ahead! Enjoy!
